Echo Still Expected to Release in 2023 Amidst Rumors of a Delay

Marvel fans had met Maya Lopez a.k.a. Echo in the Hawkeye series, and she’s expected to get her own show on Disney+. Despite rumors going around that the Echo series has been delayed, it’s been officially confirmed that the show will still come out this year.

This has been confirmed by D23.com which says that Echo will release this year alongside other Marvel shows including Secret Invasion, Ironheart, and the second season of Loki. We don’t have an official synopsis for the series yet, but rumor going around is that the series will have appearances from both Daredevil (Charlie Cox) and Kingpin a.k.a. Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio).

Though we did get to see Maya leading the Tracksuit Mafia in Hawkeye, her falling out with the Kingpin could result in her having a target on her back. Then again, it would be kind of one-dimensional for the Kingpin to just go and put a hit out on her. After all they are family, and that could definitely have room to complicate things.

I’m curious about Daredevil though. While a lot of fans are expecting Matt to be a mentor to Maya moving forward, I am curious on how both are going to communicate with each other, with Maya being deaf and Matt not being able to see any of Maya’s sign language. I’m just saying, the writers will have to find a way to make this relationship work—if there will be one that is.

No official release date has been announced for Echo, but the series is expected to debut on Disney+ sometime this year. In the meantime, you can catch Maya in Hawkeye now streaming.
