Enjoy a BTS Look at Thor: Love and Thunder

July is almost here, which means we’re closer to the release of Thor: Love and Thunder. Just in, we have a fun BTS look at the movie, and we have some new footage from the film as well as the actors (and director Taika Waititi) goofing off on set.

While I was personally not a fan of the more wacky direction Ragnarok took the Thor franchise, I think Love and Thunder could be taking a more serious direction when it comes to Thor’s character development; then again, we should still expect some of that new humor that Thor is now known for.

Though this movie has been a character journey for Thor, we know surprisingly little about Jane Foster’s character. Since she takes up the Thor mantle by getting cancer in the comics, I wonder if she’ll have that same fate in this movie. I mean, we know Marvel Studios is trying to market a fun action movie, but out of all the previews, we barely have any idea what kind of arc Jane has besides that she’s the one who wield Mjolnir now.

Thor embarks on a journey unlike anything he’s ever faced — a quest for inner peace. However, his retirement gets interrupted by Gorr the God Butcher, a galactic killer who seeks the extinction of the gods. To combat the threat, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie, Korg and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster, who — to his surprise — inexplicably wields his magical hammer. Together, they set out on a harrowing cosmic adventure to uncover the mystery of the God Butcher’s vengeance.

Thor: Love and Thunder comes to theaters on July 8.
