First Teaser for Ahsoka Features Familiar Faces from Star Wars Rebels

Rosario Dawson’s Ahsoka has been appearing in The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, but she’s ready to take the spotlight in her own series coming to Disney+ later this year. Thanks to Star Wars Celebration, we now have the first teaser for Ahsoka, and it features multiple returning characters from Star Wars Rebels.

Check this out:

The series synopsis reads:

After the fall of the Galactic Empire, former Jedi Knight Ahsoka Tano investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy.

If you’ve watched The Mandalorian Season 2, you’ll know that Ahsoka is on a mission to find Grand Admiral Thrawn. Though she seems to have settled down by the time we meet her in The Book of Boba Fett, it looks like she’ll be right back in the middle of it all in this series.

Besides Ahsoka, we see multiple returning faces from Rebels including Sabine (Natasha Liu Bordizzo), Ezra (Eman Esfandi), and Chopper the droid. It’s also been confirmed that Mary Elizabeth Winstead is indeed playing the live-action version of Hera Syndulla. With Mando 3 revealing the live-action Zeb, it’s possible he could also be appearing in this show.

Now when it comes to the villains, it’s not really clear who Ray Stevenson’s character is. Rumor has it that he’s a former Jedi, and we can see that the other saber-wielder (Ivanna Sakhno) also has a padawan braid, meaning he could be her master. Of course, there’s also the threat of Grand Admiral Thrawn (Lars Mikkelsen) who could be the one planting seeds for the First Order.

So far, the series looks great, and Star Wars TV has been upping its quality ever since the first season of The Mandalorian. I’m just hoping that Ahsoka manages to tell a more meaningful story as compared to Mando which has been dubbed by some as “Jon Favreau’s Action Figure Hour”. Then again, not every show has to be Andor.

Ahsoka premieres on Disney+ this August.
