Grease is the Word in Trailer for Spinoff Series Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies
Published 2 weeks ago
Grease is probably one of the most celebrated musicals of all time and though it may not be getting the West Side Story treatment any time soon, we are getting a reboot series with Paramount+.
Check out the trailer for Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies. Check this out:
Here’s the synopsis:
In 1954, four years before the original Grease, before rock ‘n’ roll ruled and before the T-Birds were the coolest in the school. It follows four fed-up outcasts who dare to have fun on their own terms, sparking a moral panic that will change Rydell High forever.
If you’re not caught up on your Grease lore, the Pink Ladies are the girl clique of Rydell High that match up with the all-boy gang of the T-Birds. Since this is a prequel to the original film, we should probably suspect that the Ladies and the T-Birds we meet in this show are a completely different generation, but that just opens the series up for new storylines, and possibly new songs.
Going back to the original Grease, the Pink Ladies felt like they were their own cool group in the high school, and I’m very intrigued at the thought that they started out as a bunch of lady misfits. I actually love how the trailer looks, and I can’t wait to see more of these characters that showed us what it meant to be cool in the 50s.
Catch Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies when it starts streaming on Paramount+ on April 6.
