Possible New Details for New Avatar Series After Legend of Korra
Published 3 months ago
2025 will see the debut of a new Avatar series focused on the Avatar after Korra, but we have yet to get any official details. Even if that is the case, a new rumor has come out confirming the timeline of the incoming show.
According to @MyTimeToShineH, the series will follow the world of bending in a Cyberpunk-type setting. Here’s the post:
I got some Avatar: The Last Airbender scoop
The next sequel show will have more of a Cyberpunk setting and will have multiple Energy Benders and flying Air Benders so expect more Dragon Ball Z level fighting

When the series was first announced, it was speculated that the show would take place in a timeline around the present day; roughly a hundered years after the time of Korra. With the alleged Cyberpunk setting, I think this could be an effect of the world-building where we have a society with people who can freely control the elements; let’s also not forget that Korra unleashed the spirits unto the world during her time, so who can say how Republic City and the rest of the world evolve from that point.
With a lot of properties currently focused on continuing/retelling Aang’s story, I’m happy that Bryan Konietzko and Michael Dante DiMartino are choosing to go an alternate route and introduce some new characters.
I have to say, I’m curious about what kind of Avatar we’re going to get next. Aang’s arc concerned him not wanting to be Avatar, while Korra’s followed her as she wanted to be Avatar, but it seemed that the world didn’t need her anymore. Will the next Avatar have a significant arc as well? We’ll just have to wait and see.
The next Avatar series is expected to premiere sometime in 2025.
