Histerically Accurate: Watch the Star-Studded Trailer for Mel Brooks' History of the World Part II

Mel Brooks’ History of the World Part I had come out back in 1981, and though the film didn’t receive an immediate sequel, the movie still turned out to be a cult classic. Now Brooks has teamed up with Hulu for a sequel History of the World Part II, and it features a star-studded cast playing random historical figures.

The official description reads:

A four night event, streaming March 6 on Hulu.

Finally, a sequel to the seminal Mel Brooks film, HISTORY OF THE WORLD PART I, with each episode featuring a variety of sketches that take us through different periods of human history.

For context, Mel Brooks’ History of the World Part I was a collection of different sketches featuring several comedy actors playing historical figures in hilarious, partially true scenes from history. Not only was there comedy, but there was also music, with Brooks himself playing several parts.

Though it’s not a movie, it seems that Part II is going to be following the same spirit of the original, with several guest stars including Seth Rogen, Sarah Silverman, Ronny Chieng, Taika Waititi, and Wanda Skykes playing different historical figures. Other actors in the cast include Jack Black, Zazie Beetz, David Duchovny, Johnny Knoxville, Pamela Adlon, Tyler James Williams, Danny DeVito, Quinta Brunson, and so much more.

It would also be great if they could get Brooks to perform, but at 96-years-old, we can’t really expect him to do as much dancing around as he did in the original movie.

History of the World Part II comes to Hulu this March 6.
