It’s Miles vs. the Spider-People in New Trailer for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse

The movie was originally set to come out last year, but Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse has been pushed back to June. Despite the delay, it looks like the final film is going to be worth the wait, because the latest trailer looks amazing.

Check this out:

The teaser pretty much frames Miguel O’Hara as the primary antagonist of the film, and he’ll have a multiverse of Spider-Man to pit against Miles. We don’t really know the specifics of why Miguel doesn’t want Miles in the team, but it could have something to do with the Spot who has powers that let him conjure multidimensional portals anywhere, including his own body.

With Into the Spider-Verse being lauded for kick-starting a new age in animated films, it looks like they’ve ramped the visuals up for the sequel to eleven. Hopefully they don’t reveal too much of the film before the release in June.

Here’s the official description:

Miles Morales returns for the next chapter of the Oscar®-winning Spider-Verse saga, Spider-Man™: Across the Spider-Verse. After reuniting with Gwen Stacy, Brooklyn’s full-time, friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is catapulted across the Multiverse, where he encounters a team of Spider-People charged with protecting its very existence. But when the heroes clash on how to handle a new threat, Miles finds himself pitted against the other Spiders and must redefine what it means to be a hero so he can save the people he loves most.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is set to release on June 2.
