It’s Morphin Time! Watch Trailer for Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always
Published 2 months ago
Back in January, Netflix had given us a first look at their upcoming anniversary special for Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, and now we have an official trailer featuring the returning cast as well as a familiar villain.
Check this out:
The Rangers come face-to-face with a familiar threat from the past. In the midst of a global crisis, they are called on once again to be the heroes the world needs.
So far, the only original cast members they were able to bring back are David Yost (Blue Ranger) and Emanuel Jones (Black Ranger); but Catherine Sutherland and Steve Cardenas are both the second incarnations of the Pink and Red Ranger respectively.
Tragically, original Yellow Ranger Thuy Trang passed away in 2001, so it’s pretty neat that they actually found a way to bring her back in some form by giving her a daughter. When the reunion was announced, fans were wondering if there would be a tribute to Jason David Frank, the original Green Ranger who died last year due to suicide.
I’ll admit, the Power Rangers franchise has always been kind of goofy, but I think that’s what the special is embracing—complete with spandex and TV quality costumes. Though the 2017 reboot wasn’t able to relaunch the franchise as expected, at least we know that there’s still a lot of love for the original Morphin gang.
Watch out for Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always when it premieres on Netflix on April 19.
