‘Jurassic World 3’ Casts ‘Altered Carbon’ Star Dichen Lachman

The Jurassic World 3 cast continues to grow. According to Deadline, Altered Carbon star Dichen Lachman is joining the Colin Trevorrow-directed film in a yet undisclosed role.
Lachman will be joining franchise stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard. Aside from her, Sorry For Your Loss ‘ Mamoudou Athie is also joining the newcomer team. But, there is so much more. Jurassic World 3 is bringing back beloved characters from all over the Jurassic Park timeline. And this will feature characters not only from the past two films of Jurassic World but also from Steven Spielberg’s original 1993 pic. This includes the return of Alan Grant, Laura Dern, and Ian Malcolm. In addition to them, BD Wong, Jake Johnson, Omar Sy, Justice Smith, Danielle Pineda, and Isabella Sermon will also be back to reprise their roles.
Lachman is well known for her role in Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. She played Jiaying, the inhuman who led the Afterlife in a war against S.H.I.E.L.D. Lachman also appeared in Supergirl as Veronica Sinclair or Roulette. And more recently, Lachman played Frankie in Animal Kingdom and Reileen Kawahara in Altered Carbon. Lachman is next set to star in the upcoming comedy feature Bad Therapy alongside Alicia Silverstone, Haley Joel Osment, and Rob Corddry.
Plot details for Jurassic World 3 are still being tightly kept under wraps. But, Trevorrow gave fans a taste of what to expect in the short film Battle at the Big Rock. Set after the release of the auction dinos, the short film focuses on a family fending for themselves in the new human-dino co-living situation. A friendly dino-family comes to visit them. Then, the trouble starts when a terrifying and hungry Allosaurus joins the party. The film has been watched more than 10 million times since its release.
Trevorrow directed 2015’s Jurassic World which became the sixth highest-grossing film in cinema history topping at $1.67 billion worldwide. For Jurassic World 3, the director has teamed up with Pacific Rim: Uprising’s Emily Carmichael to pen the script from a story by Derek Conolly. Trevorrow will also continue to consult with Spielberg and producer Frank Marshall for the overall management of the growing Jurassic brand. This includes video games, theme parks, toys, novels, and animated LEGO series. He will also be executive producing alongside Spielberg for the upcoming film. Marshall will be producing with Pat Crowley. Jurassic World 3 will hit theatres on July 11, 2021.
