Latest Trailer for Scream VI Features a New Ghostface
Published 2 weeks ago
With the last Scream taking place in the classic suburbs, Scream VI is set to bring the Ghostface to the heart of the city. The film is set to hit theaters on March, and we have a new trailer showcasing the next entry in the franchise.
The official description reads:
Following the latest Ghostface killings, the four survivors leave Woodsboro behind and start a fresh chapter. In Scream VI, Melissa Barrera (“Sam Carpenter”), Jasmin Savoy Brown (“Mindy Meeks-Martin”), Mason Gooding (“Chad Meeks-Martin”), Jenna Ortega (“Tara Carpenter”), Hayden Panettiere (“Kirby Reed”) and Courteney Cox (“Gale Weathers”) return to their roles in the franchise alongside Jack Champion, Henry Czerny, Liana Liberato, Dermot Mulroney, Devyn Nekoda, Tony Revolori, Josh Segarra, and Samara Weaving.
With the last movie killing off Dewey Riley (David Arquette), it seems that the Scream franchise is finally ready to start killing off legacy characters to show how dire the situation is with its new Ghostface. What’s really interesting is the meta nature of the show, and even with the trailer, you can already see the characters being familiar with the tropes of the Scream franchise. At least that means the movie has a lot of avenues to subvert expectations.
I guess it’s also worth noting that a lot of eyes are going to be on Jenna Ortega for this movie. After the breakout success of Netflix’s Wednesday, I’m sure a lot of people will want to see her survive another encounter with Ghostface—seeing as she also played the first victim in the last movie.
Catch Scream VI when it comes out March 10.
