LEGO Star Wars is Back with Trailer for Summer Vacation Special

I guess LEGO Star Wars really meant it when they said ‘Holiday Specials’. After a Christmas and Halloween holiday special from Disney+, we now have a trailer for a LEGO Star Wars Summer Vacation special.

Watch this:

“LEGO® Star Wars Summer Vacation,” which is set shortly after the events of “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker,” features the voices of “Weird Al” Yankovic, Yvette Nicole Brown, Kelly Marie Tran, Anthony Daniels, Billy Dee Williams, and returning cast members from previous “LEGO Star Wars” specials, and includes “Weird Al’s” new original song, Scarif Beach Party.

Like the previous LEGO Star Wars holiday specials, the stories take place after the events of The Rise of Skywalker, but will feature flashbacks from across all eras of the franchise from the original trilogy to the sequel films. That means we’ll get stories with Vader and Palpatine at the height of the Empire, but we’ll also get a look at young Ben Solo as well as friends Rey, Poe, and Finn.

Though it is kind of sad that we don’t know if the Sequel characters will ever return, the LEGO Star Wars holiday movies feel like they have some kind of hints at the canon. Through the LEGO films, it’s hinted that Finn will be training in the Force with Rey, and we also have hints at the reason Ben Solo fell from the Dark Side.

Besides, there’s a ton of neat Easter Eggs for any fan. It’s kind of like a PG version of the Robot Chicken Star Wars specials—which they should release on Disney+ at some point, because those skits were classic.

LEGO Star Wars Summer Vacation comes to Disney+ on Aug. 5.
