Lena Dunham Joins Quentin Tarantino's Star Studded 'Once Upon A Time In Hollywood' Cast

Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon A Time In Hollywood is packing it tight with its star-studded cast. Girls’ Lena Dunham joins the latest addition together with Austin Butler, Maya Hawke, and Lorenza Izzo according to Deadline

The film goes back to the Golden Age of Hollywood setting the 1969 Manson family murders in the background. It’s headlined by Leonardo DiCaprio who will be playing as Rick Dalton, a fading Western TV star. Alongside him is Brad Pitt who will be playing as Dalton’s longtime stunt double, Cliff Booth. The pair tries to make their way in an industry that hardly recognizes them. Later on, they find out that Rick’s neighbor is none other than Sharon Tate (Margot Robbie).

Tarantino compared Once Upon A Time In Hollywood to one of his classics, Pulp Fiction according to Deadline’s report. “It takes place during the 1969 Hollywood era at the height of the counterculture explosion, at the time of the hippie revolution,” Tarantino said. “During the summer, little by little, block by block, we’ll be transforming Los Angeles in the psychedelic Hollywood of 1969.”

According to Entertainment Weekly, Lena Dunham is set to play as Catherine “Gypsy” Share, one of Charles Manson’s disciples. On the other hand, Chilean actress Lorenza Izzo will be taking the role of Francesca Capucci, an Italian movie star. Austin Butler will be acting as Charles “Tex” Watson who was involved in the murder of Sharon Tate. And Maya Hawke, daughter of Kill Bill’s Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke, will be entering the film as the fictional character named Flower Child.

Aside from this, Dunham is also the executive producer and writer of Camping, an upcoming HBO series. Meanwhile, Butler was recently in Jim Jarmusch’s The Dead Don’t Die and the Broadway production of The Iceman Cometh. On the other hand, Hawke is expected as a series regular in Netflix’s Stranger Things while Izzo will be seen on The House With A Clock On Its Walls.

Once Upon A Time In Hollywood is slated for release on July 26, 2019.
