New Images from LOTR: The Rings of Power Reveal Characters Theo and Bronwyn

A lot of Lord of the Rings fans have been watching out for the premiere for The Rings of Power on Amazon Prime Video, but despite the hype, the promotional material has been very sparse. Just in, we have a look at some new characters from the show Theo (Tyroe Muhafidin) and Bronwyn (Nazanin Boniadi).

Check them out:

We don’t have any official details about the characters, but some are already throwing their speculations around. A lot are suspecting that Theo is a reference to the name ‘Theoden’ and it’s possible that he could be one of the kings that fell to Sauron’s rings. There are also some guesses that he could be a Harfoot—which is the series’ earlier version of a Hobbit.

As for the character of Bronwyn, the name kind of suggests that the character could be an elf, but it also kind of has the same ring as ‘Eowyn’. If I were to make a guess, I have a feeling that these two characters will be connected to the kingdom of Rohan.

Until we get some more information, all we can really do as fans as speculate.

Amazon Studios’ forthcoming series brings to screens for the very first time the heroic legends of the fabled Second Age of Middle-earth’s history. This epic drama is set thousands of years before the events of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, and will take viewers back to an era in which great powers were forged, kingdoms rose to glory and fell to ruin, unlikely heroes were tested, hope hung by the finest of threads, and the greatest villain that ever flowed from Tolkien’s pen threatened to cover all the world in darkness.

Beginning in a time of relative peace, the series follows an ensemble cast of characters, both familiar and new, as they confront the long-feared re-emergence of evil to Middle-earth. From the darkest depths of the Misty Mountains, to the majestic forests of the elf-capital of Lindon, to the breathtaking island kingdom of Númenor, to the furthest reaches of the map, these kingdoms and characters will carve out legacies that live on long after they are gone.

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is set to come to Amazon Prime Video on Sept. 2.
