Shelob will Appear in 2nd Season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power

With the story taking place during the Second Age, it was understandable that The Rings of Power would barely have familiar characters from the original trilogy. What’s interesting is, the second season of TROP will actually introduce us to a face we met in Return of the King.
According to FellowshipOfFans, a young Shelob will be appearing in the second season of Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. We don’t have any details besides that, but it’s possible that Shelob could already be lurking around in Middle-earth, and we could see Sauron find her as he further builds his forces.
In the lore, Shelob was a daughter of another giant spider demon called Ungoliant which existed in the First Age and sucked the light from Valinor. Though Shelob never fell to the influence of Sauron, it was said that she herself was already pretty useful enough, with her nest placed near the path of Cirith Ungol.
In the game Middle-earth: Shadow of War, it’s revealed that Shelob can actually change form from her spider appearance, but since that game isn’t considered canon, it’s possible that we can just see a slightly smaller spider from the one that Sam fights off in LOTR.
For now, Rings of Power is said to be pushing forward despite the WGA Strike. Though I would have loved for the show to stand with the writers, I think Rings of Power is too expensive of a production to actually halt their schedule without burning a lot of money. Then again, the whole point of the strike is to hit studios where it hurts.
LOTR: The Rings of Power Season 2 still has no release date, but you can check out the first season now streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
