New 'Shazam!' Photo and 'Aquaman' Poster Drops Online Ahead of SDCC 2018

Another week hits us, but it gets even more interesting especially for those excited for San Diego Comic-Con 2018 this weekend. Ahead of the surprise-packed event, Warner Bros. continues to hype fans up with two of its upcoming DC Extended Universe films, Shazam! and Aquaman.

Over the past weeks, we’ve seen the first official image for Zachary Levi and Asher Angel’s Shazam!, while first look photos of Aquaman stormed social media with its astounding world-building and breathtaking cinematography. Today, we get two more servings—another look at the friendship between Jack Dylan Grazer’s Freddy Freeman and Levi’s Shazam and the official poster for Jason Momoa’s Aquaman.

News: Official Shazam image from DC_Cinematic

The first preview we have is a closer look at Shazam’s emblem and how awed Freddy is at the sheer magnificence of the suit. The photo radiates the child-like glee and fun that Shazam! Director David F. Sandberg promises. The image also looks like its taken from the first act of the film, when Billy Batson (Angel) receives his powers from the Wizard (Djimon Hounsou). Since the film is said to stand on its own, it’s unclear if the hero will soon join the DCEU’s Justice League. But given the happy and fun theme that Shazam has, that might not be the case.

On the other hand, the poster for Aquaman is undoubtedly poised to bring home the gold. “Home is calling,” it says, and it’s something that would pique one’s interest, especially with The Conjuring’s James Wan at the helm. The fantastic seascape is also present, and of course, Aquaman’s hero-bro demeanor is prevalent in the poster’s overall feel.

Seriously, SDCC 2018 can’t come sooner!

Aquaman hits theaters December 21st, while Shazam! is slated for an April 5, 2019 release.
