Nick Jonas Joins Doug Liman's Chaos Walking Cast

Pop star Nick Jonas has officially joined the cast of the upcoming film adaptation of Patrick Ness’s (A Monster Calls) “Chaos Walking.” The film is being helmed by Doug Liman (The Bourne Identity, Edge of Tomorrow) and is being seen as the first entry in a potential trilogy adaptation. It follows a world where all living creatures have the ability to hear each other’s thoughts in a series of images, words and sounds in something called Noise. Jonas joins Daisy Ridley (Star Wars) and Tom Holland (Spider-Man: Homecoming) as the film’s main cast.

“Chaos Walking” is set to begin production soon, and so the film is now polishing its roster of actors for the entire cast list. “Sons of Anarchy” creator Kurt Sutter has also been cast and Mads Mikkelsen (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) is reportedly in talks to appear as the movie’s main villain.

Nick Jonas Now Part ‘Chaos Walking’ Cast

In a report by The Wrap, Jonas joins “Chaos Walking” alongside the aforementioned names. Demian Bichir (The Hateful Eight) is also joining the cast. After Jonas’ frat boy movie, “Goat,” debuted last year, the pop star slash actor is also set to appear in one of this year’s remakes with Dwayne Johnson in “Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle.” Jonas also released his third solo album, “Last Year Was Complicated,” back in June of last year.

The script for “Chaos Walking” has undergone a couple of changes. Earlier versions were written by Charlie Kaufman and Jamie Linden. The movie aims to up the anticipation for YA sci-fi movie adaptations following the recent bomb of films in the same genre, most notably “Divergent: Allegiant.”

Liman, on the other hand, has produced a number of critical and commercial hits in the past, and so here’s to hoping that “Chaos Walking” would be a set-apart movie in the sci-fi YA genre.
