Obi-Wan Kenobi Getting a Second Season?

Even before the premiere of Obi-Wan Kenobi, Lucasfilm had been clear that it was going to be a limited series that would only run for one season. Word, however, has gone out that we might actually be getting more of the show.

Making Star Wars reports that insiders from Disney have said that Lucasfilm is looking to revise the ending of the show after the early numbers of the series had looked promising. I don’t want to spoil anything here, but they are saying that changes could be changed when it comes to fate of Reva—the Inquisitor Sister who has been on the helm of the hunt for Kenobi.

Since we don’t have anything official, we should just take it as rumors for now, but I was honestly fine with just having one season. I feel like changing the end to push the story further might have a danger of dragging out Obi-Wan’s story for too long—and we already know where the character ends up eventually.

So far, the series has been doing pretty well. Besides the seamless return of Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan Kenobi, we’ve also gotten some fun character moments from young Leia Organa. I’m not to keen on Sister Reva’s trigger-happy personality yet, but I’m sure I’ll be more invested in her as a character once it’s explored in the show as to why she’s so eager to catch Kenobi.

Personally, I would love if they just made a Kenobi movie out of this series, but we’ll just have to wait and see what happens.

Catch Obi-Wan Kenobi now on Disney+.
