Sam Claflin Cast as Finnick in The Hunger Games ‘Catching Fire’

Sam Claflin (Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, Snow White and the Huntsman) has been cast as Finnick Odair in The Hunger Games sequel Catching Fire. Based on Suzanne Collins best selling novels, the movie is slated for release in November 2013. Odair, a Hunger Games victor from District 4 is wily, resourceful and charming.

The sequel will pick up after events from the first film, with Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark returning home as joint victors in the 74th Annual Hunger Games. Forced to take part in a ‘victors’ tour’ of the Districts, Katniss soon realizes that rebellion and resentment are simmering throughout Panem. Meanwhile President Snow prepares for The Quarter Quell, a competition to mark the Games’ 75th year which could just change the landscape of Panem forever.
