Squid Game Spinoff Reality Show Needed Medics on First Day

It looks like the producers of the Squid Game spinoff reality show got more than what they bargained for.

After the success of Squid Game, Netflix apparently gave the greenlight for a reality show spinoff called Squid Game: The Challenge which will have contestants competing for a £3.7million prize while undergoing dangerous challenges. Now The Sun is reporting that the first day require medics to help contestants, with some being taken from the set in stretchers.

Apparently, the show tried to make a less deadly version of the ‘Red Light, Green Light’ game by having the contestants in freezing temperatures. Though the idea would be that some would just give up when things got unbearable, some contestants ended up staying longer than ought to, resulting in some exhausted, hurt people. One source said, “Even if hypothermia kicked in then people were willing to stay for as long as possible because a lot of money was on the line. Too many were determined not to move so they stood there for far too long.

This should already be a huge flag for the producers of the show who would easily have a Fyre Festival fiasco on their hands if they’re not too careful. You’ think that basing their game show on a series about a deadly game was already a terrible idea. I just hope the first day has them going back to the drawing board and checking how else they could prevent anything like day one from happening again.

The reality show just started shooting, but you can check out Squid Game now streaming on Netflix.
