Squid Game’s Lee Jung-jae Allegedly in Talks to Join Marvel Project

Lee Jung-jae has become one of the world’s biggest stars thanks to the success of Squid Game, and though it will be a while before the second season comes out, Lee may have found a job with Marvel Studios.

According to insider Daniel Richtman (via @GeekVibesNation), Lee is currently in talks for a role with Marvel. We don’t know what kind of role it could be, but hopefully Marvel doesn’t waste his talent like they’ve done with previous actors like Mads Mikkelsen, Christopher Eccleston, and Cate Blanchett.

With Marvel having several projects in motion, there’s no telling where we could see Lee in the future. Could he be a rival weapons manufacturer in Armor Wars? How about a Skrull agent in Secret Invasion? It would be fun if they decided to give him a recruiter role like the one in the series and have him bring everyone together for the Thunderbolts film.

Then again, I’m just pitching here. Lee is a very talented actor, and you have to appreciate just how expressive his face is compared to his co-stars in Squid Game. Marvel would do well to make good use of him—even if he was the comic relief, I think he would do fantastic.

For now, Marvel has the She-Hulk premiere incoming, but that’s only the tip of all the other projects that are set to release down the line.

Lee hasn’t been officially confirmed for a Marvel project yet, but you can catch him in Squid Game now streaming on Netflix.
