Stranger Things: Watch Joe Keery React to Gaten Matarazzo Turning 20
Published 1 year ago
Probably one of the most beloved team-ups in Stranger Things is between Steve (Joe Keery) and Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo), and the two have been paired up for the press tours of the fourth season. Since we’ve literally seen the two grow up together onscreen, a new interview between the two has Keery reacting to the realization that Matarazzo is turning 20 this year.
This is the clip:
You can also watch the full interview here, with Keery, Matarazzo, and Eddie actor Joseph Quinn:
It shouldn’t be a surprise that Keery would be shocked at the revelation that Matarazzo is turning 20. After all, the production did experience a huge halt with the pandemic; essentially, everyone kind of got suspended in quarantine before the industry started getting back up again.
The production of the fourth season is also unique in that they stopped mid-way and got started again years later. I’m sure fans who keep a close eye on the show will be able to pinpoint which scenes were shot pre-pandemic, but for now, I guess the story flows pretty seamlessly.
The first part of Season 4 ended up with a huge cliffhanger, but I’m sure things will get kicking back in July. With Steve being worried that Eddie has replaced him as Dustin’s mentor, hopefully we get some more BFF moments from the two in the future.
The first part of Stranger Things 4 is now showing on Netflix, and the second half is set to premiere on the platform on July 1.
