The Bad Guys: Watch the First 6 Minutes of Last Weekend’s No. 1 at the Box Office

Kids may not get anything out of The Northman or The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, but they will with The Bad Guys, and that’s probably a reason why the movie managed to dominate the box office last weekend. If you haven’t checked out the movie yourself, the first six minutes have actually been released online, and it gives us a good look at Wolf (Sam Rockwell) and his crew of misfits.

We basically get a breakdown of the entire crew and their jobs. Wolf is the leader who plans the heists and his partner is Snake (Marc Maron) who is a wiz at safecracking.  Shark (Craig Robinson) is a master of disguise, while Tarantula (Awkwafina) is the gang’s resident hacker. Piranha (Anthony Ramos) looks to be the muscle/brawler of the group.

Besides the cutesy animal characters, the film also seems to be adapting the 3D meets 2D  aesthetic that’s been prevalent with other recent properties like Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and Arcane. Though Disney may have a handle on the biggest animated films, you can’t blame the other studios for giving us something different now and again.

After a lifetime of legendary heists, notorious criminals Mr. Wolf, Mr. Snake, Mr. Piranha, Mr. Shark and Ms. Tarantula are finally caught. To avoid a prison sentence, the animal outlaws must pull off their most challenging con yet — becoming model citizens. Under the tutelage of their mentor, Professor Marmalade, the dubious gang sets out to fool the world that they’re turning good.

The Bad Guys is now showing in theaters.
