Trolls Band Together: Poppy Meets Branch's Boy Band Family in New Trailer

It’s been two years since the release of Trolls: World Tour, and now Dreamworks is ready to bring us back to the scrapbook world of Poppy and Branch with Trolls Band Together.

Just in, we have a new poster, and it introduces us to Branch’s extended family and backstory. Check this out:

Here’s the story description:

After two films of true friendship and relentless flirting, Poppy (Anna Kendrick) and Branch (Justin Timberlake) are now officially, finally, a couple (#broppy)! As they grow closer, Poppy discovers that Branch has a secret past. He was once part of her favorite boyband phenomenon, BroZone, with his four brothers: Floyd (Golden Globe nominated electropop sensation Troye Sivan), John Dory (Eric André; Sing 2), Spruce (Grammy winner Daveed Diggs; Hamilton) and Clay (Grammy winner Kid Cudi; Don’t Look Up). BroZone disbanded when Branch was still a baby, as did the family, and Branch hasn’t seen his brothers since.

But when Branch’s bro Floyd is kidnapped for his musical talents by a pair of nefarious pop-star villains—Velvet (Emmy winner Amy Schumer; Trainwreck) and Veneer (Grammy winner and Tony nominee Andrew Rannells; The Book of Mormon)—Branch and Poppy embark on a harrowing and emotional journey to reunite the other brothers and rescue Floyd from a fate even worse than pop-culture obscurity.

We don’t have a look at the other characters in the film yet, but we do get a return to the world of the Bergens, who were the initial antagonists of the first movie that were absent from the last film. With World Tour revealing to us the different kinds of genres and species that exist for the Trolls, I wonder how they could shake things up when it comes to this story, which seems to be focused on boy bands.

Speaking of boy bands, kids today may not know that Justin Timberlake, who plays Branch, was in the popular boy band NSYNC before he was starring in movies and making songs with Lonely Island. You’d think they would have cast Branch’s brothers as each member of the band, but I’d settle with some voice cameos and a cover of at least one NSYNC hit.

Watch out for Trolls Band Together when it hits cinemas on Nov. 17.
