Vader Looms in New Trailer for Obi-Wan Kenobi

May the Fourth is Star Wars day, and Lucasfilm has dropped a trailer for one of their more anticipated shows Obi-Wan Kenobi. We get a lot more on the situation of the galaxy post-Jedi Purge, plus we have Owen Lars and more Vader teases.

Watch this:

The story begins 10 years after the dramatic events of “Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith” where Obi-Wan Kenobi faced his greatest defeat—the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker, who turned to the dark side as evil Sith Lord Darth Vader. The series stars Ewan McGregor, reprising his role as the iconic Jedi Master, and also marks the return of Hayden Christensen in the role of Darth Vader. Joining the cast are Moses Ingram, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell and Benny Safdie.

Despite Kenobi’s situation in which he has to hide his Jedi status, it looks like he’s still very eager to train Luke Skywalker—something that Owen Lars clearly doesn’t want. Uncle Owen has always been apprehensive of Obi-Wan in A New Hope, and it looks like we’ll see more of it in this series.

Besides the Tatooine drama, we also get a look at everyone else who is in pursuit of Obi-Wan. We’ve known for a while that the Inquisitors will be a big factor in the show, but it turns out, they will also be making use of bounty hunters; one of them even looks like 4-LOM from Empire Strikes Back. What if they decide to bring back Cad Bane and actually have him do something more significant as compared to his appearance in The Book of Boba Fett?

I’m still forever bummed this isn’t a movie, but I’ll take what I can get when it comes to stories about Kenobi. Ewan McGregor was probably one of the more celebrated elements of the Prequel Trilogy, and I’m eager to see him reunite with Hayden Christensen in this show—even if Christensen is going to be behind the Vader costume for most of the time.

Catch Obi-Wan Kenobi when it premieres on Disney+ on May 27.
