Watch New Clip from Evil Dead Rise
Published 2 months ago
The Evil Dead franchise may have failed to launch back in 2013, but WB is going to be trying again with Evil Dead Rise later this month. Just in, we have a new clip from the movie, and it has everyone discovering that something is not quite right with their mother.
With the 2013 movie attempting a full reboot of the franchise with new characters, it looks like Rise is going the more traditional route of a reboot-sequel. If anything, we should expect all the core elements of the Evil Dead franchise, which are demons, scares, and a grotesque book called the Necronomicon Ex-Mortis—which somehow characters always manage to read from and unleash previously mentioned demons.
Early reviews for Evil Dead Rise have actually been good, and this could be the cinematic revival that the IP has been looking for. Personally, I hope they go the direction of the original Evil Dead films and kind of just get goofy toward the end, but only time will tell.
The official synopsis reads:
Moving the action out of the woods and into the city, “Evil Dead Rise” tells a twisted tale of two estranged sisters, played by Alyssa Sutherland and Lily Sullivan, whose reunion is cut short by the rise of flesh-possessing demons, thrusting them into a primal battle for survival as they face the most nightmarish version of family imaginable.
Catch Evil Dead Rise when it comes to cinemas on April 21.
