Patty Jenkins Slips Teaser of Pedro Pascal's Character in 'Wonder Woman 1984'

Wonder Woman 1984 Director Patty Jenkins is notorious for sharing details on the movies she’s working on. Since the announcement of WW84, Jenkins showed fans a photo of Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman while she looks at TV screens displaying advertisements. But this time, she lets slip a screengrab of what looks like the role Pedro Pascal will play in the sequel to last year’s hit DC Extended Universe film.

Through Jenkins’ Twitter, the director shared a photo that showed the Pascal in a blue suit matched with a gold tie. He sits at the back of a car while looking dapper with blonde hair. The photo also seemed to show Pascal through what looks like an old television screen back in the day. Jenkins tweets, “Can’t… Stop… Watching @PedroPascal1 !!! #WW84,” coaxing die-hard DC fans to respond to it in a flurry of curious comments.

Best known for his role in HBO’s Game of Thrones and Netflix’s Narcos, Pascal’s role in the upcoming film is yet to be revealed. However, Warner Bros. confirmed that Wonder Woman’s almost-lover Chris Pine would make a comeback after seemingly “exploding” into pieces from the first film. Another confirmed actor for the film is Kristen Wiig. More known as a comedian, Wiig will play the role of Barbara Ann Minerva. She is an archeologist who later on becomes Cheetah, Wonder Woman’s arch nemesis. Minerva is the third and current incarnation of the DC villain. Wonder Woman 1984 will be the Cheetah’s cinematic debut.

Wonder Woman is the first film from a female director that became a top-grossing movie. It grossed $412.5 million in the US and $821 million worldwide. Its sequel, Wonder Woman 1984, will feature what happens after Diana Prince beats Ares. Her almost-lover Steve Trevor also appears to be safe after the suicide task.

Wonder Woman 1984 hits theaters November 1, 2019.
