Zack Snyder Says It's 'Unfair' For Him To Take Over Justice League Again

Former “Justice League” director Zack Snyder has shut down rumors that he’s still actively working on the DC Extended Universe film even after he departed the project and let Joss Whedon take the helm.
Snyder was responsible for launching the DCEU—starting off with “Man of Steel” in 2013 and followed by “Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice,” David Ayer’s “Suicide Squad,” and Patty Jenkins’ widely-successful “Wonder Woman.” Snyder was deep into post-production for “Justice League,” but his daughter’s tragic death prompted him to leave the film. Whedon has since stepped in and so far the movie has undergone reshoots, a couple of script changes and post-production additions.

Zack Snyder never involved in ‘Justice League’ since departure

In an interview with Wired, Snyder shared his thoughts on the status of “Justice League.” He said that he hasn’t had an active role in the movie’s production since he left. He even went as far as saying that it would be “unfair in a lot of ways” for him to go back to the production. “I’m at a place where I feel excited about it and I’m happy for my guys and I love these people that are working on it,” Snyder said. “They’re my family and I think they’re doing an amazing job. But I’ve kind of just let them do their thing.”

This statement comes as a confirmation that Snyder never really went back to the production of “Justice League,” as the rumors say otherwise. However, it’s great that Snyder is still rooting for the film’s success and has great faith in what Whedon could do. This also confirms what Ben Affleck has previously said about the movie “an equal product of two directors.”
While Snyder’s DCEU future seems unclear at this point, it’s a positive sign that he is actively hopeful for the success of the movie, even if his involvement had been dialed down.
“Justice League” hits theaters November 17, 2017.
