The fright is definitely on. We’re about a year away from It: Chapter Two, the sequel to last year’s blockbuster horror feature that followed the story of Pennywise (Bill Skarsgård), the evil alien demon clown, as it terrorized the kids of Derry, Maine. Various casting announcements have dropped over the past months, with Isaiah Mustafa the last one to complete the adult version of The Losers’ Club. That said, a first sneak peek of the cast together was released on social media today.

Although it doesn’t reveal much for the actors’ characters, it does tease us with how the on-screen chemistry between the seven could look like. Jessica Chastain (Beverly Marsh) looks as clueless and curious as Sophia Lillis’ take on the younger version. James McAvoy (Bill Denbrough) exudes with the silent leadership that Jaeden Lieberher had. Mustafa gives justice to the shy and reserved Mike Hanlon portrayed by Chosen Jacobs. Bill Hader has the brewing energy that Finn Wolfhard gave to Richie Tozier’s character. Jay Ryan is the perfect embodiment of Ben Hanscom’s transformation to a ripped man from Jeremy Ray Taylor’s chubby kid stature. James Ransone (Eddie Kaspbrak) also looks much like Jack Dylan Grazer’s hypochondriac-infused character. Andy Bean’s Stanley Uris also has the fear and reservation plastered on his demeanor.

It: Chapter Two will pick up 27 years after the Losers’ Club defeated Pennywise. In the original novel by Stephen King, it was Mike who rounds the gang back up as the threat of the evil clown resurfaces. Although Stan died in the book before he even had a chance to return to Derry, the adult Losers were able to end Pennywise’s sinister reign over their childhood town once and for all. Check out the official synopsis below:

Because every 27 years evil revisits the town of Derry, Maine, “IT CHAPTER TWO” brings the characters—who’ve long since gone their separate ways—back together as adults, nearly three decades after the events of the first film.

It: Chapter Two is slated for release on September 6, 2019.
