Clerks III Poster Revealed Ahead of Trailer Drop
Published 11 months ago
After surviving a major heart attack, Kevin Smith is back on the filmmaking train. Clerks was the movie that essentially launched his career, and almost 30 years later, he’s now set to release a third movie with Dante (Brian O’Halloran) and Randal (Jeff Anderson) back in the spotlight.
We’re actually set to have a trailer reveal today, but before that Smith has dropped a new poster for the film featuring some familiar faces. Here’s his IG post:

Besides Dante and Randal, we’re also getting the return of Jay and Silent Bob who are still dealing drugs outside the store. Clerks II’s Elias is also back for the third movie and we get to meet his friend, a new character named Blockchain Coltrane played by Austin Zajur.
Other returning characters that aren’t in the poster are Rosario Dawson’s Becky as well as Marilyn Ghigliotti who played Dante’s girlfriend in the first Clerks.
Storywise, Clerks III is actually going to be pretty meta, with Randal attempting to film a movie at the convenience store after he suffers a heart attack—pretty much putting full circle Smith’s story of shooting a movie at his workplace and recently suffering a heart attack.
Smith is no doubt one of my favorite filmmakers, and while I’m not a fan of the Jay and Silent Bob films, I think his Clerks movies have the perfect blend of slice-of-life and raunchy comedy. I’m excited to watch something that feels so personal to him after such a long career.
Fingers crossed he gets to make different movies after this.
Clerks III is set to come out sometime this September.
