[SPOILERS FOR STRANGER THINGS SEASON 4 VOLUME 2]

Just like every other season of Stranger Things, the second volume of Season 4 was hock-full of Easter Eggs to 80s pop-culture. What’s cool is, one prop from the finale was an actual screen-used prop from an 80s cult classic.

David Harbour reveals that the sword he uses to slay the Demogorgon in the finale was the same sword that Arnold Schwarzenegger wielded on Conan the Barbarian. Here’s Harbour’s post:

What I absolutely love about the scene is that it felt so organic when they built up to it. The Russian camp did have an array of weapons from which the prisoners would choose to fight the Demogorgon, and it would make sense that they would try to add in something as fantastical as a sword.

With the series’ Dungeons and Dragons roots, it’s pretty great that we got to have Hopper wield some iconic fantasy memorabilia against the show’s original monster.

Though the characters have been reunited by the end of the season, they do have the dilemma that Vecna still managed to open the portal with his sacrifices. Though it’s possible the Mind Flayer could come back as the main antagonist of Season 5, I’m open to the Duffer Brothers coming up with someone else for the Hawkins gang to go up against.

The fifth season of Stranger Things is set to come out in 2024, but you can catch the complete fourth season now streaming on Netflix.
