Euphoria’s Syndey Sweeney Joins Spider-Man Spinoff Madame Web

Zendaya may be the main girl of the Spider-Man movies, but one of her Euphoria cast mates will be jumping into the Spider-Verse.

According to Deadline, Sydney Sweeney has joined the cast of Spider-Man spinoff Madame Web. We don’t have an official plot for the series yet, but we know that Sweeney will be joining a cast that already includes Dakota Johnson. No details have been revealed about which role Sweeney will play in the film.

Seeing that Madame Web is an elderly woman in the comics, some suspect that this could be some kind of prequel that will explain Madame Web and her connection to Spider-Man. Then again, you don’t need to be an elderly character to have the powers that Madame Web has, so maybe this could be a modern reimagining of the character.

Sweeney is definitely an interesting talent, and she specifically stood out in the last season of Euphoria. Though we don’t have any details about her role, there have been a lot of fans suggesting that she should be cast in a horror movie, seeing as to how unhinged her character became in the hit HBO series. I could definitely see her butting heads with Johnson in the movie. Sweeney definitely has the screen presence that can make her hold her own opposite the star of the 50 Shades films.
