Florence Pugh in Negotiations to be in Dune: Part Two

Florence Pugh had shared the screen with Timothee Chalamet in Little Women, but it looks like she could be reuniting with him for the Dune sequel.

Deadline reports that Pugh is currently in negotiations to join the cast of Dune: Part Two. She is apparently up for the role of Princess Irulan, the eldest daughter of the Emperor. In the 1984 film, the role of Irulan was played by Virginia Madsen.

For now, nothing solid has been officially announced, but Pugh would definitely be a huge name if they cast her in the film. Besides being the MCU’s new Black Widow, Pugh has also landed a role with Christopher Nolan’s next film, Oppenheimer. Denis Villeneuve would just be another great director that she would be able to work with.

With a lot of the big actors like Oscar Isaac and Jason Momoa bowing out of the first Dune, the sequel is set to introduce an even larger world—and with that comes more characters. We have yet to get news on who will be playing the Harkonnen Feyd-Rautha, but some are hoping they cast Robert Pattinson, who actually expressed his interest in a recent interview.

Going back to Pugh though, it’s funny that she would be cast as Irulan, as Paul’s other love interest, Chani, is played by Zendaya, who is also another MCU actress. You think there’s room for Hailee Steinfeld to be in this movie?

Dune: Part Two comes out on Oct. 20, 2023.
