It’s Wednesday v Morticia in New Clip from the Addams Family Spinoff
Published 2 weeks ago
We may not have gotten a live-action Addams Family movie in a while but we may have gotten the closest thing with Netflix’s new series Wednesday. Just in, we have a new clip from the show featuring a good-bye/stand-off between Wednesday (Jenna Ortega) and her mother Morticia (Catherine Zeta-Jones).
With the way the Addams Family like to talk to each other, it’s kind of confusing to figure out when they’re actually fighting or just talking normal. I have to say though, with the Addams films usually showing the family as a solid, supporting unit, this is the first time we see some tension between members.
I guess they had to give Wednesday some kind of arc when it comes to her family. Usually her clash is always with the ‘normal’ people she’s surrounded by, but by having her actually disagree with Morticia probably means that the rest of the Addams can be connected to the series even if the setting is Wednesday living in the Nevermore Academy.
Though I thought the show would be too similar to Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Wednesday manages to embrace the signature tone of the Addams Family humor, and it’s great to see a new iteration of pop-culture’s creepiest and kookiest family.
Here’s the series description:
Smart, sarcastic and a little dead inside, Wednesday Addams investigates a murder spree while making new friends — and foes — at Nevermore Academy.
Wednesday is now streaming on Netflix.
