Jack Quaid Trolled Toxic Star Wars Fans to Get Into Character for Scream 5

[SPOILERS FOR SCREAM 5]

Scream has always been kind of a meta franchise, and the last entry in the film had a commentary about the recent rise of toxic movie fandoms. What’s funny is, Jack Quaid, who was the surprise villain of the film, really got into character by making fun of The Last Jedi haters.

He admitted this on Twitter, replying to a post about him getting into character for the film:

Quaid even got the attention of the official Star Wars account, who replied:

Since people who actually like the films are constantly bombarded by the toxic fandom, you can imagine all the support that has been coming the way of Quaid’s post. There are even some calling for Quaid to be put in Star Wars; which could probably happen given enough time.

The Last Jedi has gone trending again, but we don’t really know exactly why. I guess it could have something to do with Obi-Wan Kenobi, and fans making comparisons on how Ben’s exile is written compared to Luke’s.

If anything, the toxic fandom works with very odd logic in that if they hate the new material that comes out, it’s Disney and Kathleen Kennedy’s fault; and if they like it, it’s because Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau bypassed the studio and gave fans what they wanted.

Personally, I think the Kenobi show has been okay so far, but it hasn’t given something I wasn’t expecting like The Last Jedi did… yet.

For now, you can catch Jack Quaid in The Boys Season 3 now on Amazon Prime Video.
