Spider-Man: No Way Home Concept Artist Shares Take on Symbiote Spider-Man
Published 7 months ago
Tom Holland’s Peter Parker has had several black suits from “Night Monkey” to the new black and gold suit from No Way Home, but one black suit manages to be the most iconic in comics and that’s the symbiote suit from Secret Wars. With the Venom sequel teasing the symbiote interacting with Peter, No Way Home concept artist Thomas du Crest shares his take on the black suit.

While I wait for the greenlight to show the work I did for #spidermannowayhome , here is a small take on what might come next 😉#spiderman #nowayhome #venom #darksuit #symbiote #tomholland #conceptart #spiderman4 #artistsontwitter #characterdesign #artwork #spiderverse pic.twitter.com/ftBEqhKR5v

Granted, this is not official, but it does give us an idea of what the suit could look like. The Spider symbol is closer to the one from the comics, but the white veins on the suit pretty much evoke the movie Venom’s design. Though it’s a realistic take, I think the veiny appearance already makes the suit look ‘suspicious’. Maybe they can keep a slick, clean black design, and it can start growing veins when Peter realizes its evil?
While Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 3 did take a stab at the symbiote suit, I was honestly a bit disappointed that it was just the same suit, but black with white webbing (never mind the new Spider logo). This one embraces the comic look, and even tries to bring in elements of the current movie symbiote.
We don’t know when Marvel plans to bring in the black suit Spider-Man, but hopefully they do so with more finesse than Spider-Man 3 did. Hopefully Sony learned their lesson this time around.
