Tom Cruise’s Crazy Stunt Promo for Mission: Impossible Officially Released

Besides being devilishly handsome, Tom Cruise is now known for his crazy stunt work—specifically when it comes to the Mission: Impossible movies. A few weeks ago, he released a promo of himself standing on a plane to advertise the film, and now the video has been officially released by Paramount.

Watch this:

Admittedly, the video seemed kind of casual with Cruise just standing in the middle of the plane, but you find yourself gasping when it does a huge turn with Cruise still hanging on to it. You have to admire Cruise’s dedication to the craft, especially since he’s already past 60 and is still sharp enough to do all this stunt work.

We don’t know what the story is for the next Mission: Impossible film is, but you can bet that it’s going to involve some kind of world-ending conspiracy, and Ethan Hunt and his team of sleuths will have to stop it. Like with every M:I film, we should also expect some kind of over-the-top stunt performed by Cruise, as well as some more series trademarks like the elaborate disguises and someone tearing it off their face.

While never as big on narrative as the Avengers movies, the Mission: Impossible films have always been a source of cinematic spectacle. It’s almost sad to see Cruise on his last leg of films in this franchise, but we don’t expect him to keep running around and doing stunts forever.

Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning – Part One is expected to hit theaters July 14, 2023.
