'Wonder Woman 1984' Set Photo Shows Diana Prince & Steve Trevor Back Together

As director Patty Jenkins gears up for Wonder Woman 1984, a photo taken on set confirms the reunion of Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) and Steve Trevor (Chris Pine).

Steve played a massive role in Diana’s (Gal Gadot) journey in the first Wonder Woman film. Steve sacrificed himself to help Diana gain the upper hand in her final battle against Aries. Diana owed Steve her life. Viewers of the first Wonder Woman film were stricken by the duo’s romantic and comedic chemistry. And now that Wonder Woman 1984 is in production, this news gets fans off their feet.

Photos of Gadot and Pine on the set of Wonder Woman 1984 confirms the return of Steve. Although Pine’s character didn’t survive in the first movie, it’s a wonder (pun intended) how Steve will return. There are no other details as to whether Chris will still be playing the role of Steve or a possible Trevor descendant. If fan theories prove to be true, then the old Diana and Steve chemistry might not be the same in Wonder Woman 1984.

In line with the production start of Wonder Woman 1984, both Jenkins and Gadot shared first look images of Pine and Wonder Woman herself. Fans were sent in a frenzy when Jenkins tweeted out a welcome photo of Steve into Wonder Woman 1984. Gadot’s photo, on the other hand, seemed to tease Diana’s process of learning about the new culture of that era as she stares at multiple analog TV screens. The mysterious preview by Jenkins and Gadot had no other details, but it was enough to get fans more excited about the Wonder Woman sequel.

Related details about Wonder Woman 1984 also brings one of the heroine’s mortal enemies into the big screen–Cheetah, to be played by Kristen Wiig. DC fans have long been wondering as to when Cheetah will ever get her claws on Diana. Now that a showdown between the two female comic book characters is in place, fans can remain excited for new details of Wonder Woman 1984 to surface in the coming weeks.

Wonder Woman 1984 is slated for a November 1, 2019 release date.
