'American Horror Story: Apocalypse' Trailer Teases Chaos, Confusion, and the Horrifying End of the World

When it all turns to shit, you have to hand it over to American Horror Story for giving us a glimpse at how the end of the world will look and feel like. The trailer for AHS: Apocalypse just dropped, and we couldn’t be more scared for our lives following last year’s politically-charged season, Cult.

The trailer starts out with chaos and confusion at the helm, with Leslie Grossman and Billy Eichner panicking their wits out while the whole world dips into utter disarray. Newcomer Cody Fern is also seen, his character Michael Langdon, AKA The Anti-Christ, all grown up.

There’s also an underground bunker, seemingly managed by Sarah Paulson’s Venable. You can’t fool around in there, but then the kids do anyway. The entire coven of witches is also present, with Kathy Bates standing by Paulson’s side. Of course, Evan Peters is also back to play different characters (also reprising his Season 1 character, Tate).

Then here’s where things get even more interesting—the introduction of zombies (are they really, though? Not sure because it was just a brief glimpse) and a whole new aesthetic. The Past American Horror Story seasons featured somewhat realistic takes on different situations, but AHS: Apocalypse looks a bit more engrossing with its unusual cinematography and pace.

Towards the end of the trailer, Bates then says, “hail Satan.”

Christ almighty, we are in for another horrifying chapter.

American Horror Story: Apocalypse premieres Wednesday, September 12th, with “The End” at 10/9c on FX.
