‘American Horror Story’s’ Coven Will Be Back for Another Future Crossover

We definitely haven’t seen the last of Cordelia Goode (Sarah Paulson) and the rest of the witches of the coven. After duking it out with the Antichrist Michael Langdon (Cody Fern) in American Horror Story: Apocalypse, series creator Ryan Murphy teases that the witches will return for another crossover in the future seasons of AHS.

Although Apocalypse just finished a season filled with power plays and apocalyptic chaos, Murphy says that this is not the last crossover where we’ll see the Coven in action. He says they’ll be back sometime in the future seasons of American Horror Story.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Murphy teased the future of the coven. “The witches will be back,” Murphy said. “Not next season, though, but we have something really fun planned.”

American Horror Story: Apocalypse featured a crossover between season one’s “Murder House” and season three’s “Coven.” Evan Peters’ Tate had the demon offspring with Connie Britton’s Vivien towards the end of Murder House. This baby grew up to be Michael Langdon, who ushered in the apocalypse and rained hell down on Earth. The Coven, led by Cordelia, had to prevent Michael’s reign and ultimately had to elevate Billie Lourd’s Mallory as the new Supreme. She was able to defeat Michael by going back in time and performing the best hit-and-run sequence that we’ve ever seen on TV.

The show has been renewed for two more seasons. But in typical AHS secrecy, it’s currently unknown as to what the narrative of season nine would be. Perhaps season 10 would bring back the Coven for another showdown?
