American Horror Story Season 7: Emma Roberts Joins The 'Cult' Cast

Emma Roberts is back in the “American Horror Story” family as she joins the cast of its seventh season, “Cult.” Roberts first appeared in “Coven” as Madison Montgomery, a telekinetic witch and in “Freak Show” as Maggie Esmerelda, a cunning con artist who went as a fortune teller undercover to kidnap the performers for profit.

After appearing in seasons 3 and 4 of “American Horror Story,” Roberts went on to join the cast of FOX’s horror comedy “Scream Queens,” as Kappa Kappa Tau queen bee Chanel Oberlin. She appeared in films like “The Blackcoat’s Daughter” and “Nerve.” She is also set to appear in the upcoming dramas “Billionaire Boys Club” and “Who We Are Now.”

Emma Roberts Back On Board For American Horror Story: Cult

“American Horror Story” series creator Ryan Murphy announced Roberts’ casting in an Instagram post early this week. In the photo, she is seen wearing a white dress and trench coat while holding a kitchen knife like it’s one of the most normal things to do. “Look who showed up on the set of Cult looking glamorous and ready for action,” Murphy captioned the image. Check it out below:

Before the picture was posted, some fans initially thought that she was just visiting her friends on set (she has also been having an on and off relationship with Evan Peters since 2012). However, Roberts confirmed her “American Horror Story: Cult” casting by posting the same photo on her personal Instagram.

It’s unclear as of now what character Roberts will be playing, as details for the new AHS season are still few. Roberts joins the recurring cast of the horror anthology series: Peters, Sarah Paulson, Adina Porter, Mare Winningham, Frances Conroy, and Cheyenne Jackson. Newcomers in the show include Colton Haynes (Arrow), Lena Dunham (Girls), Billie Lourd (Scream Queens), Billy Eichner (Billy on the Street), Leslie Grossman (Popular) and Alison Pill (The Newsroom).
