DOTA: Dragon‘s Blood Season 2 Episode 1 Recap - Nothing with Nothing

Filomena

Davion wakes up in a cage as the Dragon Knights take him to Dragon Hold. Fymryn follows close, stalking their movements.

Invoker gathers the faithful Coriel’tauvi inside the Temple of Mene while the lotuses return to their rightful place. Meanwhile, Selemene is trapped inside the Invoker’s tower.

Invoker meets with her and shows her the lotuses now bound to him. Selemene warns that Terrorblade’s bargain won’t bode well, especially if he fails to meet his obligation. She offers to forgive and forget. She can take down Terrorblade with her powers restored.

Invoker denies her and transfers the power of the lotus to the flowers Filomena once discovered. A flower that now bears her name.

Luna, Mirana, and the rest of the Dark Moon Order fight the Coriel’tauvi who continues to pursue them to the woods. The Order’s numbers are dwindling along with their supplies. On top of that, there’s still a lot of ground to cover, but morale is low.

Kaden ties up Davion in one of the hold’s dungeons, dreading what they’ll all have to do. Davion appeals to him, but it’s useless. Father comes in with surgery equipment to remove his “curse.” Davion reasons they’re out to fight Terrorblade who is now collecting the Eldwyrms’ souls. Nobody listens.

A man named Ritterfau berates Kaden for his 22-year hunt for Slyrak, only to bring one of their own to the hold. Kaden replies he’s never dragged anyone down for his quest.

To Kaden’s surprise, father has collected pieces of flesh from Davion’s body. He orders them to stop, saying they’ll need Davion’s trust.

Trust

Mirana and her group find refuge in a temple ruin. Luna is sad as she can’t feel her goddesses’ presence.

Davion wakes up to find Fymryn in his cell. The elf returns his dragon amulet, but she can’t cut through his bonds. Davion can’t remember what happened during the battle. He asks her if the others are okay. Fymryn only knows that Mirana is safe. She feels guilt for everything that’s happened, admitting she helped Invoker.

Davion feels betrayed after hearing this and asks her to go away.

Davion’s treatment continues, and father manages to contain his condition. He tells him about the existence of Dragon Blood in some humans, showing him records about Rylai and Lina, sisters who share traits from Water and Ember dragons, respectively. Davion might be one of the Dragon Clan, and his soul is fused with Slyrak forever.

Bram and Davion reconnect, saying their still friends despite what happened.

Father summons Kaden, asking for his trust. The old man shows him Davion’s blood — something they can use to enhance their troops and bestow the dragon’s power. He sees Davion as a precious resource to extract from. Kaden disappears in fear, who turns out to be Fymryn in disguise.

Dragon’s Blood

Mirana and Luna plan for their next step as the enemy troops have them pinned. Luna intends to distract the enemy while Mirana and the rest find safe passage. Mirana tells her that she is also responsible for what happened to them.

Father drinks a vial of Davion’s blood, causing a terrifying transformation of his body. He wants more.

Fymryn goes back to Davion’s cell and tells him what she heard. The elf hugs him and prays for the best. With this, she manages to teleport him out of his bonds.

Luna prepares for battle, but Sagan is nowhere to be found. Mirana already went ahead to ambush the enemy herself.

Terrorblade possesses the father to claim Slyrak inside of Davion. Outside, a horde of dragons attacks.

Our Thoughts

The season begins with a quick start! The tight weaving of characters and motivations continues to be the highlight of this series, and the visuals look better as well. 4/5.
