Dr. Stone Season 2 Episode 10 Recap - Humanity‘s Strongest Tag Team

Revival

Senku starts applying the miracle fluid to Mirai’s statue. As the stone starts to crack, they watch with bated breath if the process can cure her.

The stone finally chips away; Mirai immediately reaches out to Tsukasa. She smiles after seeing his brother, asking how many years it has been since they last met. Kohaku sympathizes with them as she has been through a similar situation before.

The Ishigami villagers pack up their camp to go home. Meanwhile, Hyoga asks Mirai to wash in a nearby river as she still has stone chips all over her.

While packing, Chrome notes that their dynamite stack doesn’t add up. Ukyo tells them only one person can steal without being heard.

Suika checks Homura’s cell, only to find her missing and her guard knocked out. In his pursuit to find Chrome, Yo found the Ishigami villager’s camp, where he stumbled upon Homura’s cell, who asked him to free her.

Senku and the villagers hear a string of explosions from a distance. The dynamite has been detonated around the Cave of Miracles. Ukyo guesses only Homura can do such a thing, but she won’t do it without orders from higher-ups. Senku figures out what’s up.

Betrayal

As soon as Tsukasa gets alarmed by the explosions, Hyoga thrusts his spear toward Mirai. Senku and the villagers run toward them to warn Mirai of the danger, but it’s too late — blood gushes through the river from Hyoga’s speartip. Tsukasa took the hit with the spear piercing right through his chest. Hyoga had been waiting to strike at Tsukasa but couldn’t find the right opening. His best opportunity came with Tsukasa protecting Mirai.

Tsukasa’s limp body falls down the waterfall. Senku catches Tsukasa, but Hyoga kicks him down. Hyoga follows with his spear as the two of them fall.

Kohaku and the villagers work to find them downstream.

Later that afternoon, Senku and Tsukasa wash up somewhere by the shore, with Hyoga tailing behind. Hyoga wants to have a word with Senku. He tells him he used to agree with Tsukasa that the petrification was an act of god to cull the population. The Earth cannot sustain seven billion people, so Hyoga has another idea: competition. He thinks it is essential to select the most worthy.

Tag Team

Hyoga offers Senku a spot alongside him as the expert in science. Together they can be the most worthy to rule. He wounds Senku’s finger while talking, threatening to take more if he resists. There is no other option.

Hyoga moves to strike again while Senku pelts him with rocks. Suddenly, the rocks turn into swallows and distract him. Tsukasa gets up and punches Hyoga. He apologizes to Senku for not upholding his promise of defending them while Senku did his part.

Hyoga challenges them both as Tsukasa weakens. Tsukasa gives Senku a fist bump. They tag up to fight Hyoga.

Tsukasa brawls with Hyoga while Senku lights a dynamite trail to trap the spearman. As the ground burns, Hyoga simply waves his cloak around and diffuses it. Hyoga hits Senku with a direct strike. Tsukasa then blocks him, but he’s growing weak.

Hyoga asks him why he’s still trying. Tsukasa tells him he savors the moment of fighting alongside Senku. Hyoga is about to hit the final strike when Senku reveals there’s a battery in his chest with two poles in his finger. He rigged a 100kV stun gun from the mobile phone’s spare parts. Senku electrocutes Hyoga and knocks him out.

Our Thoughts

I was on the edge of my seat throughout this episode. This season almost ended with a bang! 4/5.
