‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Season 14 Episode 9 Recap Jo Faced Abusive Ex-Husband; Did Jo Try to Kill Him? [Spoiler]

Jo finally came face-to-face with her abusive ex-husband in “Grey’s Anatomy” Season 14 Episode 9. Grey-Sloan Memorial Hospital struggled to resolve the hacking issue to save its patients. At the end, every patient was saved but a new one arrived at the hospital that may change the life of Jo.
After a two-month break, “Grey’s Anatomy” Season 14 is finally back with an explosive mid-season premiere. In Episode 9, titled “1-800-799-7233” which is the number for the National Domestic Violence Hotline, all of the attending surgeons’ patients were saved amidst the hacking incident that severely affected the hospital’s operation. The episode, however, was centered on Jo (Camilla Luddington).

“Grey’s Anatomy” Season 14 Episode 9 Quick Recap

Jo was horrified when her ex-husband, Dr. Paul Stadler (Matthew Morrison), arrived at Grey Sloan Memorial along with his fiancée, Jenny (Bethany Joy Lenz). Paul was able to track down Jo and personally went to the hospital to inform her that he is very much willing to sign their divorce papers.
Since the hospital is still under a crisis because of hackers who held the hospital hostage, Paul asked Dr. Webber if he can help since he is also a surgeon, a world-renowned for that matter.
Alex (Justin Chambers) found out about Paul’s presence in the hospital while Paul ended up to the OR run by Meredith (Ellen Pompeo). Paul tried to convince Meredith that Jo is unstable and needs help. Jo heard the conversation and talked to Meredith to refute what Paul said. Meredith believes Jo and sat with her when Jo met with Paul to officially sign the divorce papers.
After signing the papers, Jo realized that she needs to save Jenny from Paul. With Meredith and Arizona’s (Jessica Capshaw) help, Jo was able to talk to Jenny alone and warned her about her fiancé. Jo gave Jenny her phone number and address just in case she wants Jo to help her.
Their conversation, however, backfired. Jenny told Paul exactly what Jo warned her about. Paul was so angry. He called Jo a pathological liar. He told Jo that he will keep her calling card so he knows where to find Jo. Meredith called the security. When the couple is gone, Jo went into a panic but Alex promises her that she is safe with him. Jo said she just wishes Paul were dead.
The following day as Meredith walked into the hospital and saw Jo and Alex staring into a hit-and-run patient at the ER. That victim is Paul. Meredith then asked, “What did you do?” to the couple.

“Grey’s Anatomy” Season 14 Episode 10 Spoilers

In a teaser released for an upcoming episode, Jo tells Meredith that she and Alex did not harm Paul. Mer tells them that she believes them but she is not sure if the police will. Then Jo sees Paul’s fiancée, Jenny, talking to the police.
Towards the end of the sneak peek, Jenny tells Jo, “You don’t have to worry. I did not tell them that it was you.” Did Jo try to kill Paul or Jenny is planning to frame Jo for it?
