‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Season 14 Episode 10 Recap April’s Faith Tested; Jo Made a Decision About Paul

“Grey’s Anatomy” Season 14 Episode 10 revolves mainly on April and Jo. April’s faith in God is tested after she handled several medical cases in the episode while Jo made a huge decision about his abusive husband.
April’s (Sarah Drew) hand is full in the episode titled, “Personal Jesus.” She worked to save Jo’s estranged husband who became a victim of a hit-and-run and a 12-year-old boy who was shot by a police officer. April also helped a pregnant woman who turned out to be her former fiance’s wife and a 20-year-old young man who tried to cut his own arm off because of religious guilt. For a while, all of April’s cases are going okay until they are not.

“Grey’s Anatomy” Season 14 Episode 10 Quick Recap

April attends to Paul (Matthew Morrison) when he was rushed to the hospital after he was hit by a car. Jo (Camilla Luddington) and Alex (Justin Chambers) were also called in as Jo’s calling card was found in Paul’s pocket.
Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) advises the two to get a lawyer as they might be questioned by the police about Paul. Jenny (Bethany Joy Lenz), Paul’s fiancée, tells Jo that she didn’t tell the police that it was Jo who hit Paul, but Jo tells her that it wasn’t her. It turns out that Paul was hit by a drunk driver.
Jo finds out that her suspicion about Jenny’s suffering at Paul’s hands is correct. When Paul regains consciousness with some fractured ribs and a concussion, Jenny breaks their engagement. She tells Paul to call his office and let them know he is not coming back for years because she is going to go to the police to tell them about Paul’s domestic violence.
Furious Paul tries to attack Jo and Jenny and knocks his head on the foot of his bed in the process. Paul had a second concussion and becomes brain dead. Since Jo and Paul’s divorce paper hasn’t been finalized yet, Jo is still his wife and it is her decision whether to pull her husband’s life support system or not. At the end, Jo decides to pull the plug and donates Paul’s organs.

April Doubted Her Faith in God

April also helps Karen delivered a baby girl. Karen is the wife of April’s ex-fiance, Matthew, whom she left for Jackson (Jesse Williams).
April also assists Jackson and Bailey (Chandra Wilson) in a case. They give medical attention to a 12-year-old black boy who was shot by a police officer while trying to climb in the window of his own house. April also lends a hand to Dr. Webber (James Pickens, Jr.) in a case of 20-year-old David who tried to cut off his hand. David argues that since the Bible states that if your hand causes you to sin, then it should be cut it off.
Meanwhile, Karen complains of stomach pain. Since Arizona is attending on Karen’s baby at the NICU, Karen is left in Kepner’s hands. However, her condition deteriorates fast. At the end, Arizona fails to save her life.
The kid who was shot by the police also died in the operating table after his carotid artery blows. April also finds out that Paul has died. At the end, three of April’s four patients have died. Her faith is also tested when David asks her with questions about the Bible.
“Grey’s Anatomy” Season 14 airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
