Lucifer Season 4 Episode 7 Recap – Devil Is as Devil Does

[00:00:50] A man gets killed in cold blood while Lucifer and Eve talk in bed. Eve finally understands why Lucifer works with the LAPD. He uses his job to find bad people and punishes them. Eve wants to join the fun. Lucifer has a great idea of how she can pitch in. At the hospital, Chloe and Dan speak with Julian. He admits to human trafficking and murdering Gary and Joan. Lucifer didn’t kill Julian. He merely tortured him and broke his back. Chloe wants to know if he didn’t break his back while falling down a hill. Julian is terrified and tells Chloe he did break his back. He even wants to go to jail to guarantee his safety from Lucifer. Dan pulls Chloe aside and notices Julian’s reaction. He tells Chloe that Lucifer did it.

[00:02:00] Chloe doesn’t believe Dan. She wants him to look at things objectively. Dan still blames Lucifer for Charlotte’s death. Dan knows he won’t win against Chloe, so he just leaves. Meanwhile, Remiel and Amenadiel argue about humans and celestials being together. Remiel can’t believe Amenadiel got together with a human when he‘s the one who taught her everything. Amenadiel lost his powers and tells Remiel he doesn’t want them anymore. He plans to show Remiel how humans really are.

[00:04:00] Ella processes their latest crime scene. Sam Zofreli was the guy killed earlier. Apparently, shooting him in the head wasn’t enough, so the killer tossed him over the bridge. Ella is looking for Lucifer. Chloe tells him he was with Eve. She doesn’t like Eve; she‘s a bad influence on Lucifer. Lucifer arrives as Chloe rants to Ella. He brought Eve along. Eve tells Chloe she wants to learn from her how to catch the worst criminals LA has to offer. Chloe pulls Lucifer aside and tells him Eve wasn’t allowed to join the case. Lucifer tells Chloe they will just find the killer on their own. Chloe has no other choice but to allow Eve to join them. Eve heard Chloe’s approval, so she leaps in excitement. Chloe doesn’t feel the excitement at all.

[00:07:00] Eve picks flyers from the bulletin board at the precinct. She wants to take everyone down, but Lucifer tells her to take one criminal at a time. Chloe receives a call, but she denies it. Lucifer wants to know who it is, but she doesn’t tell. Dan is still pissed that no one believes Lucifer broke Julian’s back. He wants some investigating on his own. Ella shows them a new lead. The killer pistol-whipped Sam before killing him, leaving traces of gold flakes on his face. Lucifer suggests their suspect is Scaramanga from the James Bond films. Chloe remembers the hitman carrying a golden pistol. Ella pulls up Greg Grabowski who was also known as Ponyboy. Meanwhile, Maze tells Linda’s baby stories of her glory days as a little demon. Linda stops Maze because she needs to go to work.

[00:11:00] Maze wants to accompany Linda to work to keep her safe, but she declines. At the precinct, Dan is going through trash found at Julian’s house. He found a cigarette butt that belonged to Lucifer. Dan is hell-bent on proving that Lucifer went out of line and took things personally. Chloe, Lucifer, and Eve confront Greg. Chloe is about to arrest him when he just accepts things. Eve is disappointed Greg didn’t resist being arrested, so Lucifer used his powers to find out the truth. Greg wishes he could have killed Sam, but his boss doesn’t want to. Chloe wants to know the truth, but Greg wants his lawyer. Eve is turned on by Lucifer showing off his power that they are already kissing each other before Chloe cuffs Greg.

[00:14:00] Greg’s boss is none other than Jacob Tiernan. Julian’s father wants revenge. They thought Sam broke Julian’s back. Lucifer is all fired up as another innocent person dies because of his recklessness. Lucifer wants to punish Jacob. Chloe and Lucifer speak with Jacob, but the interview doesn’t end well as Lucifer nearly kills Jacob. Chloe stops Lucifer from punishing Jacob on the spot. Eve eggs Lucifer on, but luckily, he listens to Chloe. Back at the precinct, Chloe speaks to Lucifer. She tells him Eve is a bad influence on him. She tries to convince him that he isn’t as bad as he thinks, but Lucifer has already made up his mind. He believes it’s his sole duty to punish evil since he’s the devil. Lucifer tells Chloe he broke Julian’s back.

[00:20:00] Dan goes to see Jacob to form an alliance. He knows Lucifer broke Julian’s back. Dan wants revenge for Charlotte’s death. Chloe goes to Ella for advice, but she no longer has faith. Ella tells Chloe the Bible is bullshit and the devil isn’t real. She points out that the devil started as an angel, and no one good can just go full evil. Chloe realizes Lucifer isn’t evil at all. She knows she could turn Lucifer around. Meanwhile, Amenadiel tries to convince Remiel that humans aren’t all weak and fragile. But Remiel had already made up her mind. She caught Linda’s scent and wanted to bring the baby to heaven. Amenadiel must stop Remiel before it‘s too late.

[00:24:00] Maze follows Linda to keep her safe. Linda knows someone is following her. She hides and looks around. Maze approaches her. Linda knows it‘s just Maze. She asks Maze to give her some space. Amenadiel fights Remiel to stop her. He eventually wins; Remiel accepts defeat. She warns Amenadiel that he may regret his decision to raise his son on Earth. Remiel leaves and returns to heaven. Chloe tries to call Linda, but she isn’t answering. She wants Linda’s advice on how to help Lucifer. Trixie reminds Chloe of what she taught her. When people are going through something, it’s time they need their friends the most. Chloe isn’t sure if she’s the friend Lucifer needs at the moment.

[00:28:00] Lucifer argues with Eve. She grows impatient and thinks Lucifer is stalling because of Chloe. Eve tells Lucifer that Chloe is a bad influence on him. Eve wants Lucifer to be the best version of him or what she thinks the best version of Lucifer is. Lucifer tells Eve that Chloe has nothing to do with his decisions, but Trixie suddenly arrives. She is so psyched to be in Lucifer’s penthouse that she runs all over the place. She explains that Chloe mentioned about him needing a friend, so she went over. Eve introduces herself to Trixie, but she doesn’t trust her. Dan arrives to pick Trixie up, but she isn’t home. Chloe tells Dan that Jacob Tiernan killed Sam for revenge. Chloe calls Trixie, thinking she is in her room. She sees a note that Trixie snuck out and went to Lucifer.

[00:32:00] Trixie questions Eve if she is the friend that Lucifer needs right now. Eve responds she hopes so and that she cares for Lucifer very much. Just as Trixie and Eve are speaking, Greg arrives. He almost shoots Eve and Trixie, but Lucifer stops him. Lucifer asks Greg if Jacob sent them, and he agreed. Chloe and Dan arrive just before Lucifer could kill Greg. Lucifer asks Chloe if she wants to punish Jacob. Chloe agrees, but she wants to do it the right way. Chloe knows Lucifer also wants to do it right. She points out that he may be the devil, but he is also an angel. Lucifer didn’t bother checking his wings after his devil face returned. Chloe tells Lucifer to check his wings so he can see the real him.

[00:35:30] Chloe thanks Eve for keeping Trixie safe and leaves. Eve asks Lucifer if they will hunt down Jacob. Lucifer tells her he must do things on his own since it‘s personal. Eve only wants Lucifer to be happy. Chloe and Dan ask Greg at the precinct. He tells them Julian owed Sam money. Jacob didn’t want to give Julian any money to pay off Sam, so he had to give him what he had. Julian gave everything to Sam, but it wasn’t enough. At first, Jacob thought Sam broke Julian’s back, but someone told him that Lucifer broke Julian’s back. Chloe wonders how Jacob found out about Lucifer. Dan thought Greg would rat him out, but he didn’t.

[00:38:00] Jacob doesn’t hear from Greg, so he wants to skip town, but it‘s too late. Lucifer arrives to punish him. Chloe finds a connection with Julian’s ring and Sam. It seems Julian gave Sam his ring — a family heirloom — to pay off his debts. They found a picture of Sam wearing the ring before he died. Chloe is about to arrest Jacob, but Lucifer brings him in already. Chloe asks Lucifer why he did the right thing. He tells Chloe something made him realize he went overboard recently. Chloe knows that Lucifer checked his wings. Lucifer tells her he did check. Maze is still hovering over Linda. Linda asks her if she‘s in love with her, but she denies it. She tells Maze it‘s time she finds her own connection.

[00:42:00] Linda receives a message which alarmed her. Dan goes to Ella to talk. It seems both of them are dealing with something emotionally. Ella and her broken faith, while Dan with losing Charlotte. Their problems bring them closer together than anyone would expect. Chloe goes to see Father Kinley one last time. Kinley wants Chloe to hear the prophecy. He mentions Lucifer’s first love. Father Kinley tells Chloe about the prophecy, so she immediately thought about Eve. Meanwhile, Linda goes to Lucifer as soon as she receives his message. Lucifer sobs in a corner of his penthouse. He asks for Linda’s help. Lucifer explains that he checked his wings earlier and sees them changed. It‘s the reason he didn’t punish Jacob because he thought it would change back. Lucifer shows his wings to Linda, but they are no longer angel wings.
