Madam Secretary Season 3 Episode 15 Promo Released: Break In Diplomacy

Madam Secretary Season 3 episode 15 shows Secretary Elizabeth McCord facing another diplomatic dilemma. She is shocked as the Philippines’ unconventional new president makes a pass at her during a meeting to discuss his refusal to participate in an Asia-Pacific territory treaty. Meanwhile, Jay is tasked to look into Kevin Parks connection with the CIA; and Henry has a “Dimitri moment” as he fears for his new operative who is embedded with a religious cult.

Madam Secretary Season 3 Episode 15: Jay Digs Deep

In the episode titled Break In Diplomacy, the State Department gets behind Daisy to help her out with her situation with a supposed “Kevin Park” (whose real name is Joseph and is also a CIA operative). We can remember that “Kevin” died when Daisy found him sprawled in his office.

FBI Agents then came to Daisy and took her in. Elizabeth knows that Daisy is completely innocent, and will ask Jay to find out who and what “Kevin Park” was up to during his cover within the State Department.

Awkward and Inappropriate Diplomatic Dilemma

Meanwhile, Elizabeth punches the Philippine president, Datu Andrada (guest starring Joel de la Fuente), in the face when he flirts with her during their meeting. Nadine then urges Elizabeth to speak about it in front of the press.

Elizabeth shares her predicament with Henry, thinking that she might have just busted an important agreement because of her reaction toward the president.

PH Protests Portrayal of President

Due to the controversial theme of the episode, the Philippine Embassy in Washington wrote in protest to CBS against the character portrayed as the Philippine President, as reported by The Philippine Star. “This highly negative portrayal of our Head of State not only casts doubt on the respectability of the Office of the Philippine President but also denigrates that way our nation navigates foreign affairs. It also tarnishes the Philippines’ longstanding advocacy for women’s rights and gender equality,” said the Philippine Embassy.
