Million Yen Women Season 1 Episode 11 Recap - Confrontation

Shin tells Yuki that he realized Yuki was lying. He found out that the invitation contained the story of his life, including his father’s crimes, but Yuki told him before that she knew about her father’s crime because she looked it up.

Yuki laughs at this and proceeds to blame Shin for the death of Nanaki and Minami. She says they wouldn’t have died if only Shin had found out about her earlier. She tells him that Nanaka’s life was worth a hundred million yen. Because Nanaka was too curious and had excellent intuition, Yuki decided she had to go. For Minami, Yuki says Minami knew it was her but still decided to provoke her, so she also killed her. She looks at Shin and tells him Minami’s life was worth only 10 million yen.

Minami was not supposed to die in the fire. Yuki admits it was supposed to be Midori. She thinks that if an orphan high school girl were to die in the fire, it would get a lot of sympathy from people. She mocks Shin and says that if it were Midori who died, Shin’s novel would have sold more copies. Yuki also says that since Hitomi is a simple girl, it’s easier for her to manipulate Hitomi. She also happens to be the daughter of a famous novelist, Hibiki Ogie.

Before they met, Yuki happened to read one of Shin’s novels. She says she didn’t think it was interesting or boring, but she sensed that the author fears death. When she looked up information about Shin’s life, she found out about his father. So Yuki decided she would change an unpopular novelist who feared death to a popular novelist who wants to commit murder.

Shin calmly tells Yuki they are going to the police. Yuki doesn’t seem a bit threatened. In fact, she tells Shin that if you have money, you can do anything. What Yuki says next suggests that she may have something to do with the execution of Shin’s father’s death sentence.

Yuki takes out a box from her bag. The box contains a knife that looks like what Shin’s father used. She hands it to Shin. She tells him that if Shin doesn’t stop her, she will also kill Midori and Hitomi.

Shin grabs the knife and points it at Yuki. Yuki smiles at him and spreads her arms open, but Shin puts the knife down.

Midori chooses to live alone, drop out of high school and just start a business. Shin decides to live alone in a small apartment. Mr. Sakurai visits Shin and tells him his past books will all be reprinted. Mr. Sakurai cries in front of Shin for the success he is receiving.

The last scene shows Midori talking to Yuki after not seeing each other for quite some time.

Our Thoughts

Shin finally found out it was all Yuki’s idea. But even though he did, he still chose to do nothing. When Yuki handed the knife to Shin and spread her arms wide, you can see how sure she was that Shin was incapable of killing her. Sadly, Shin chose not to do anything for Nanaka and Minami.

When Mr. Sakurai told Shin that his other novels would be reprinted, he also told him it was because people were starting to recognize his talent. But he also said that people who read Shin’s novel are buying his previous novels. Is Shin really talented, or are people just curious about his other novels?

We can’t wait to see what happens to Yuki, Hitomi, and Midori. Will Shin go back to Hotaru? Or will he continue to live alone?
