My Hero Academia Season 1 Episode 11 Recap - Game Over

Scattered Fights

Midoriya and his team win their battle, so they plan for their next step. Most enemies are on the central plaza, so they aim to go around it to find the exit.

In the landslide zone, Todoroki manages to freeze his enemies with an overwhelming ice attack. He surmises that much of the enemies’ force consists of thugs while around five of them are the ones to fear. With his power, he threatens the frozen thugs to spill what their plans are.

The team of Momo, Jirou, and Kaminari get pushed to a corner by a swarm of thugs. They manage to fight back using their combined powers. Jirou and Momo hide under an insulated blanket while Kaminari unleashes his maximum voltage against the enemy. Momo’s quirk enables her to create nonliving objects out of her skin, while Jirou has enhanced hearing and can unleash sonic booms with her costume.

Midoriya’s team checks on Eraserhead as he battles against the villain’s leader. The teacher gets caught as the enemy manages to figure out his timings. The enemy’s quirk is disintegration, catching him at the elbow. Aizawa is at reaching his limit from the many enemies he faces. The ringleader then points to a burly-looking villain and says he is the real boss among them.

No.13 manages to suck the portal-generating villain into his quirk, but the enemy tends to appear behind him for a strong attack. Iida gets a surge of motivation and starts for the door when another portal opens to suck him in. Thankfully Shoji comes in and distracts the villain, but he continues his pursuit.

Escalating threats

The students now find themselves in a bind as multiple stronger villains come in, and an artificial enemy called Nomu is about to attack Aizawa.

Kirishima and Bakugo finish beating their foes inside a building and plan for their next step. A chameleon villain tries to intervene, but Bakugo manages to blast through him. Kaminari expresses awe at his companion’s level-headedness, but Bakugo insists he’s always been this way. They both agree to go after the portal villain.

The students start winning against their foes in the fire and storm zones, oblivious to the danger nearby.

The portal villain tries to catch up to Iida but gets thwarted by Uraraka, Sero, and Sato using their various quirks. This causes Iida to successfully open the gates to send the message back to school.

In the main plaza, the Nomu starts torturing and beating up Aizawa. The teacher can’t use his quirk against it, as it has some mutant ability. On top of that, it seems to have strength on par with All Might.

Shigaraki

Midoriya and his team are all watching this by the water. Mineta doesn’t want to get in their way as they’re outclassed. The portal villain, Kurogiri, reports to the leader named Tomura Shigaraki that one of the students managed to escape. Shigaraki scratches his neck in annoyance and threatens to crush him. If Pro Heroes manage to reinforce, then it’ll be game over for them. They decide to head home.

Mineta rejoices, thinking they’re done, but Tsuyu and Midoriya don’t think it’ll be that simple. Perhaps game over has some cryptic meaning.

And sure enough, Shigaraki goes after them in an attempt to embarrass All Might and the heroes. He goes to Tsuyu to kill her, but Aizawa finally manages to erase his quirk at the last minute. Nomu then crushes his head to the floor. Midoriya has no choice but to step in for a Smash, but the Nomu absorbs the blow without damage. Their team is about to go down when the doors open, and All Might finally arrive.

Our Thoughts

Great episode with many ups and downs, 4/5.
