'Stranger Things 3' Adds Francesca Reale as New Recurring Cast

A new mystery will unfold once “Stranger Things” Season 3 premieres in 2019. With new things coming to the hit Netflix show comes a bunch of new characters as well. Deadline reports that “Haters Back Off’s” Francesca Reale has been added to the recurring cast roster of the show.

“Stranger Things” Season 2 introduced new faces to fans as well. Sadie Sink’s Max was welcomed into the original band of kids who went head to head against the demodogs and also served as Lucas’ (Caleb McLaughlin) love interest. Dacre Montgomery played Max’s problematic teenage brother, Billy. Then we have Linnea Berthelsen’s Kali, who was unfortunately widely hated by most fans (remember the unnecessary seventh episode?).

However, it’s Sean Astin’s Bob Newby who hit our feelings the most after getting the Barbara treatment in the second season of “Stranger Things.” Things were going great between him and Joyce Byers (Winona Ryder), only to suffer death at the hands (claws?) of the demodogs. Nonetheless, whether fans loved or hated the new cast, the show is still one of Netflix’s best shows.

Enter Reale’s character, Heather. According to Deadline, Heather is “a popular lifeguard at the Hawkins Community Pool who becomes the centerpiece of a dark mystery.”

That statement alone confirms that “Stranger Things” Season 3 will have higher stakes for the story. It also teases a more threatening foe for Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), Will Byers (Noah Schnapp), Mike Wheeler (Finn Wolfhard), Dustin Henderson (Gaten Matarazzo), and Lucas Sinclair (Caleb McLaughlin). That said, it’s interesting to see how Heather will play into the lives of our kid heroes, or maybe even join Steve Harrington (Joe Keery), Nancy Wheeler (Natalia Dyer), and Jonathan Byers’ group of tier-two protagonists.

Details on “Stranger Things” season 3 are still under wraps, but it’s been confirmed that the show will have another time jump of one year as new threats are also introduced.
