Suits Season 7, Episode 1 Spoilers: Harvey Sets Out On A Hunt For Managing Partner

“Suits” season 6 gave us a crazy finale. Mike finally got out of jail from fraud and is now a lawyer. Harvey is now the managing partner of Pearson Specter Litt, with Louis still the manager of the new business associates. And so the question still remains: what does this all mean for the seventh season?

Suits Season 7 Synopsis

“One of Manhattan’s top corporate lawyers (Gabriel Macht) sets out to recruit a new hotshot associate and hires the only guy that impresses him—a brilliant but unmotivated college dropout (Patrick J. Adams). Though he isn’t actually a lawyer, this legal prodigy has the book smarts of a Harvard law grad and the street smarts of a hustler. However, in order to serve justice and save their jobs, both these unconventional thinkers must continue the charade.”

The “Suits” synopsis doesn’t give too much away, but there are definitely some theories that we can pick up.

A Hard Task For Harvey

Ever since “Suits'” beginning, Harvey has always been the sidekick in the law firm. This looks really bad at first, but it worked out to Harvey’s advantage. Because of this position, he was able to take more risks and even be a little bit selfish. Now that he’s a managing partner, things won’t be easier now. He’ll have to make hard decisions that will greatly affect the firm, while worrying about his new prospective clients.

With Mike back in the playing field, things get a little bit more complicated. Mike wants to make the law firm a pro bono clinic. This means that a lot of money will be spent, and breaking even will also be hard to achieve. Without any money coming in for the firm, will it affect Harvey and Mike’s friendship? What will happen to the firm?

A Pissed-Off Louis Litt

When “Suits” season 6 ended, the last thing that Harvey and Louis discussed was about how they will be running things for the firm. But with Mike’s return, this hardly seems to be the case anymore. Harvey is the new managing partner, and Louis runs the new class of associates. This means that a bigger conflict can happen between the three. Louis has always been known to not get along with his partner. They’ve been getting in each others nerves for the rest of “Suits,” and this might just happen again. However, Louis could also become the mediator between Harvey and Mike; which is also what Harvey need to keep reality in check.

Where Does Dana and Rachel Fit?

With the dilemma between our three protagonists brewing, Donna will also need to adapt to change. It’s clear that she doesn’t want to be a secretary anymore, and now she wants to start her own business venture. However, season 6 crushed all her hopes for having one, and so it’s very likely that Donna will focus on another thing and move on. With Harvey as the new managing partner, it’s also not going to be easy for her.

Rachel, though, will continue to move through the ranks of the firm. She’s been one of the biggest characters with huge development over the past seasons of “Suits.” She is now a full-fledged lawyer, and we can only sit and think about how this would all fall to pieces for Rachel—now that Mike (her fiance) is back in action.

“Suits” season 7 premieres next week, July 12th on the USA Network. Watch the official trailer below:
